Quidio Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy

Last updated: 16 September 2026

This Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy explains what sellers must not list, sell, promote, share, or facilitate through Quidio.

This Policy applies to all Quidio listings and seller activity, including public storefront items, private share-link products, seller pages, AI-assisted listings, images, descriptions, titles, metadata, support messages, and any other content created, uploaded, published, shared, or processed through Quidio.

This Policy forms part of the Quidio Terms of Use and the seller terms that apply to use of the Quidio seller app, seller tools, hosted storefronts, listing pages, seller links, and payment-related features. Sellers must comply with this Policy, applicable law, payment provider rules, app store rules, and any other policies that apply to their use of Quidio.

Quidio may remove listings, restrict sellers, block transactions, disable private share links, suspend accounts, preserve records, report activity, or take other action where we believe a listing or seller activity may breach this Policy, applicable law, payment provider requirements, or create legal, safety, reputational, operational, or platform risk.

1. Seller responsibility

Sellers are responsible for ensuring that every item they list is lawful, safe, authentic, accurately described, and permitted for sale.

Sellers must have the legal right to sell each item. They must also make sure the listing is accurate, not misleading, and supported by any evidence required for the item type, such as proof of ownership, authenticity records, provenance, permits, certificates, licences, or product safety evidence.

Quidio may provide AI-assisted tools to help create titles, descriptions, categories, suggested attributes, item details, or other listing content. AI-assisted outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, outdated, or unsuitable. Sellers must review, correct, and approve all AI-assisted content before publishing or sharing a listing.

Quidio does not provide legal, valuation, authentication, product safety, tax, regulatory, or compliance advice. If a seller is unsure whether an item can legally or safely be sold, they must not list it unless they have obtained appropriate advice and can provide supporting evidence if requested.

2. General rule

Sellers must not use Quidio to list, sell, promote, arrange, share, or facilitate any item, service, content, or transaction that is illegal, unsafe, restricted, regulated, counterfeit, stolen, misleading, harmful, or prohibited by this Policy.

An item may be removed even if it is lawful in some circumstances where Quidio decides the item creates unacceptable legal, safety, operational, payment provider, app store, reputational, or user risk.

3. Illegal goods and unlawful activity

Sellers must not use Quidio for any illegal goods, illegal services, or unlawful activity.

This includes goods or activity that are illegal to own, sell, advertise, import, export, ship, transfer, or facilitate in the relevant country or region.

Sellers must also not use Quidio for fraud, scams, phishing, spam, money laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, tax evasion, illegal gambling, handling stolen goods, or any other unlawful activity.

4. Weapons, bladed items, firearms, and militaria

Quidio's current policy position is that bladed, weapon, firearm, and militaria categories are not permitted unless Quidio has expressly approved a category in writing and the required legal, age-verification, reporting, payment, and operational controls are live.

Unless expressly approved, sellers must not list:

  • Firearms, guns, ammunition, firearm parts, magazines, silencers, or accessories.

  • Deactivated firearms, replica firearms, imitation firearms, air weapons, or realistic imitation weapons.

  • Knives, bladed articles, swords, machetes, axes, crossbows, or offensive weapons.

  • Items designed, adapted, or marketed to cause injury.

  • Explosives, fireworks, pyrotechnics, or explosive components.

  • Military, police, security, tactical, or law-enforcement equipment that is restricted, controlled, unsafe, or unsuitable for sale through Quidio.

  • Any item that requires age verification, licensing, registration, notification, police reporting, or specialist checks unless Quidio has expressly confirmed that the category is permitted and the required controls are live.

Quidio may decide to ban all bladed, weapon, firearm, and militaria categories even where some items may be lawful in limited circumstances.

5. Ivory, animal products, wildlife, and protected species

Sellers must not list items made from, containing, or advertised as containing restricted animal products, wildlife materials, or protected species unless the item is clearly lawful and any required certificates, exemptions, registrations, or permits are available.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Ivory or items containing ivory.

  • Tortoiseshell, coral, reptile skin, fur, bone, horn, tusk, shell, feathers, or other animal-derived materials where restricted.

  • Taxidermy or animal specimens.

  • Products from endangered or protected species.

  • Items requiring CITES, COTES, Article 10, APHA, import/export, exemption, or similar documentation.

If there is uncertainty about the material, age, species, origin, exemption status, or legality of an item, the seller must not list it.

6. Counterfeit, replica, infringing, or misleading goods

Sellers must not list counterfeit, fake, replica, altered, unauthorised, or infringing goods.

This includes:

  • Counterfeit branded goods.

  • Counterfeit, altered, or fake coins, banknotes, medals, stamps, certificates, documents, autographs, or collectibles.

  • Unauthorised copies, reproductions, or replicas where sale would be misleading, infringing, or unlawful.

  • Items that misuse trade marks, logos, copyrighted works, designs, publicity rights, or other intellectual property.

  • Listings that falsely suggest an item is genuine, certified, rare, original, antique, limited edition, associated with a brand, or connected to a person, event, institution, or collection.

Sellers must be able to support claims about authenticity, provenance, brand, maker, age, condition, rarity, certification, or value if requested.

7. Stolen goods, treasure, archaeological finds, and cultural objects

Sellers must not list stolen goods, suspected stolen goods, unlawfully obtained goods, or goods where ownership or provenance is unclear.

Sellers must not list:

  • Unreported treasure or metal-detecting finds that may be subject to reporting obligations.

  • Archaeological objects, antiquities, or cultural objects that may have been unlawfully excavated, exported, imported, transferred, or sold.

  • Items from conflict zones or sanctioned regions where trade is restricted.

  • Looted cultural property.

  • Items that may breach treasure, cultural heritage, sanctions, export control, import control, stolen goods, or handling laws.

If an item requires reporting, export documentation, provenance records, ownership evidence, licence evidence, or other legal documentation, the seller must not list it unless they can provide that evidence if requested.

8. Human remains and sensitive items

Sellers must not list human remains or items made from, containing, or presented as containing human remains.

This includes bones, skulls, teeth, hair, tissue, preserved remains, medical specimens, funerary objects, grave goods, or items presented as containing human material.

Quidio may also remove items that are legal but highly sensitive, exploitative, distressing, offensive, unsafe, or likely to create reputational or user safety risk.

9. Dangerous, unsafe, recalled, or regulated goods

Sellers must not list goods that are unsafe, recalled, defective, hazardous, or subject to controls that Quidio does not support.

This includes:

  • Recalled products.

  • Hazardous chemicals, poisons, toxins, pesticides, radioactive materials, or dangerous substances.

  • Drugs, controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, or products making unlawful medical, health, or therapeutic claims.

  • Prescription medicines, restricted medicines, medical devices, or regulated healthcare products where sale is not permitted through Quidio.

  • Products that require safety certification, conformity marking, or specialist compliance evidence where the seller cannot provide it.

  • Products that are unsafe for consumers or materially different from the listing description.

10. Age-restricted goods

Sellers must not list age-restricted goods unless Quidio has expressly allowed the category and appropriate age-verification, fulfilment, and reporting controls are in place.

This may include alcohol, tobacco, nicotine products, vapes, knives, fireworks, adult products, gambling-related goods, or any other item that cannot lawfully be sold to all buyers.

Where Quidio does not support the required age-verification, licensing, reporting, delivery, or fulfilment controls, the item must not be listed.

11. Offensive, hateful, exploitative, or harmful items

Sellers must not list items that promote, glorify, support, encourage, or facilitate hatred, violence, terrorism, abuse, exploitation, self-harm, illegal conduct, or discrimination.

Quidio may restrict or remove items that are hateful, discriminatory, sexually exploitative, abusive, threatening, extremist, violent, or otherwise harmful.

Quidio may also make policy decisions to restrict categories that create reputational risk even where the item may not be unlawful in every jurisdiction.

12. Payment provider and platform restrictions

Sellers must not list items that breach the rules or risk requirements of Quidio's payment providers, card networks, app stores, hosting providers, fraud prevention providers, identity providers, or other third-party services.

An item may be removed even if it is legal where it is not permitted by Stripe, card network rules, app store rules, platform policies, or other service provider requirements.

13. Delivery and carrier restrictions

Where Royal Mail or another delivery provider is used, sellers must also comply with the current prohibited and restricted items requirements that apply to the relevant carrier, service, parcel and destination.

Some items may be lawful and otherwise permitted for sale but may be prohibited from the postal network or accepted only subject to specific conditions. Depending on the carrier and service, this may include:

  • Batteries, power banks and certain used or damaged batteries.

  • Electronic devices containing or sent with lithium batteries.

  • Aerosols.

  • Perfumes and aftershaves.

  • Nail varnish, polish, gel and related flammable products.

  • Liquids.

  • Alcoholic beverages.

  • Lighters, lighter refills, flammable liquids, flammable solids and compressed gases.

  • Corrosive or environmentally hazardous substances.

  • Biological substances, clinical or medical waste.

  • Live creatures, insects and invertebrates.

  • Environmental waste and other dangerous or restricted goods.

Carrier requirements may include quantity or volume limits, packaging requirements, marking or labelling, visible sender details, presentation at a Post Office or other designated location, use of a particular service, or restrictions based on destination.

Sellers are responsible for checking the latest carrier requirements before dispatch. Sellers must not use Quidio-generated or Quidio-supported delivery services for an item where the carrier prohibits that item, or where the seller cannot comply with the applicable restrictions.

For Royal Mail shipments, sellers should check Royal Mail's current prohibited and restricted items guidance before dispatch:

Royal Mail: Prohibited and Restricted Items

Royal Mail and other delivery providers may update their requirements from time to time. Sellers must use the current carrier guidance that applies at the time of dispatch, including any destination-specific restrictions.

Where Quidio's rules are stricter than the carrier's rules, the Quidio restriction still applies. An item permitted by Royal Mail or another carrier is not automatically permitted for sale through Quidio. Equally, an item permitted for sale through Quidio must not be sent using a carrier or service that prohibits it or where the applicable shipping conditions cannot be met.

14. Private share-link products

This Policy applies equally to private share-link products and public storefront items.

Sellers must not use private links, unpublished listings, direct buyer links, hidden pages, coded descriptions, misleading photos, off-platform communications, or any other workaround to evade this Policy.

Quidio may review, block, remove, disable, or restrict private share-link products in the same way as public listings.

15. Seller acknowledgement

Sellers must acknowledge and comply with this Policy when using Quidio seller tools, creating or publishing listings, sharing private product links, or using Quidio-hosted storefronts.

Quidio may require sellers to accept this Policy during onboarding, before first listing publication, when the Policy changes, or at any other point where Quidio considers acknowledgement necessary.

16. Evidence and review

Quidio may request information from sellers to assess whether a listing is allowed.

This may include:

  • Proof of ownership.

  • Authenticity evidence.

  • Provenance records.

  • Certificates, permits, licences, exemptions, registrations, or notification records.

  • Product safety evidence.

  • Age-restriction, identity, fulfilment, or legal compliance evidence.

  • Additional images, descriptions, documents, or supporting information.

If the seller cannot provide adequate evidence, Quidio may remove the listing or restrict the account.

Quidio may treat refusal to cooperate, incomplete evidence, misleading evidence, or attempts to bypass review as a breach of this Policy.

17. Enforcement

If Quidio believes a listing or seller activity may breach this Policy, Quidio may take action without prior notice.

Actions may include:

  • Removing, hiding, or refusing to publish a listing.

  • Blocking checkout or preventing transactions.

  • Disabling private share links.

  • Restricting seller features.

  • Suspending or terminating a seller account.

  • Preserving relevant records.

  • Cooperating with payment providers, app stores, hosting providers, regulators, law enforcement, or affected users where appropriate.

  • Taking any other action Quidio considers necessary to protect users, buyers, sellers, Quidio, partners, service providers, or the public.

Repeated breaches, serious breaches, deliberate evasion, illegal activity, or failure to cooperate may result in permanent account termination.

18. Reporting prohibited or restricted items

Users, buyers, sellers, rights holders, regulators, law enforcement, and third parties may report suspected prohibited or restricted items by contacting:

support@quidio.ai

Reports should include the listing link, seller page, screenshots if available, and a brief explanation of the concern.

Quidio may review reports, preserve relevant information, remove listings, restrict accounts, contact the seller, contact affected users, notify service providers, or escalate matters where appropriate.

19. Seller appeals and corrections

If a listing is removed or restricted, a seller may contact Quidio to provide evidence or ask for review.

Quidio may reinstate a listing where it is satisfied that the item is permitted, the listing is accurate, and any required evidence or controls are in place.

Quidio is not required to reinstate a listing, allow a category, or continue providing access where it considers the item or seller activity to create unacceptable risk.

20. Changes to this Policy

Quidio may update this Policy from time to time to reflect legal, regulatory, operational, payment provider, platform, safety, risk, carrier, delivery, or business changes.

The latest version will apply from the date stated above or from the date it is published, unless otherwise stated.
